Ninja Cut: Ninja Bowl’s new sister outlet that makes the cut

Former Perfect 10 deejay Darren Wee, who owns the food and beverage company The Astronauts Group, has opened a new outlet at Seah Street. The well-received Ninja Bowl at Duxton Rd was his third outlet. The newly-opened Ninja Cut is a pumped up version of the former.

Ninja Cut serves their poke bowls with three options of carbs namely quinoa, soba and Ninja Rice. Alternatively, diners can choose to have garden greens to form the base of their dish. Let us take a look at some of the options available at Ninja Cut.

Waikiki Surf ($16)

With the name of the dish meaning "surfing in freshwater" in Hawaiian, this poke bowl comprises of yuzu marinated salmon, aburi avocado, sakura ebi, onsen egg and cherry tomatoes.

The entire hodgepodge is fresh and stimulating to the palate.

#CrispyGoals ($14 + $3 for Ninja rice/quinoa/soba)

This bowl comprises of miso cucumber, pickled beets, onsen egg, mushrooms as well as sio bak! Ninja Cut stands out from other chirashi don joints with its infusion of local flavours.

The crispy pork belly was well-seasoned with salt and pepper and exudes a jelly-like texture.

Marvellous Matcha ($16)

A shout-out to all matcha-lovers, a must-try item on Ninja Cut’s dessert menu is this matcha hotcake that is filled with green tea fondant, baked to an exquisite crisp at a temperature of 200 degree Celsius. Topped with a dollop of ricotta cheese, shortbread crumbs and homemade dango, the entire dish is a good combination of both texture and taste.

Japanese pancakes tend to be fluffier and sweeter. With a slice of the pancake, fresh matcha filling oozes out.
