Like previous events, there will be several road closures to facilitate the F1 event. Especially for those who plan to drive be it to the event or passing through to get home, do check out the site at LTA for more information. On the other hand, there will be extended hours for MRT train services. Operating hours for the City Hall MRT station will be extended till 1.30am on all 3 event days.

Apart from the event itself, the famous shopping street at Orchard Road is having its annual Rev-up @ Orchard. Malls participating in the Rev-up will offer some pretty cool discounts to all you shoppers out there.

Fun Fact: The event in Singapore has roots dated back to 1961, when it was known as the Orient Year Grand Prix. Later on the race was named Malaysia Grand Prix in 1962, before becoming Singapore Grand Prix in 1965 after Singapore’s independence. Due to a variety of reasons the Grand Prix circus was discontinued from 1973, but resurfaced again in Singapore in 2008.
