Things to Do in Singapore: SG50 Edition!

There’s no surprise that there are going to be several attractions at a reduced price, or even for free this weekend. For example, most museums are open and free of charge. This can be a great opportunity for you to get together with your family or friends and check out the cultural attractions in Singapore. The lucky Singapore residents will also get to enjoy other hot deals like 50% discount for admission to Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari, River Safari and Singapore Zoo as well. You might want to plan some extra time, as a lower price probably increases the queues!

If you want to work up a little sweat, all ActiveSG gyms offer *free admission to workout. If you prefer to take a swim (or do both), no worries, the pools are also open! Singapore Sports Hub also has lots of activities lined up in August, so do check that out too.
*For the Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents

Up for some fun, or the sweet life at the beach? Take a trip to Sentosa, as there are many exciting events going on at the island during the celebration weekend. Here are some of the deals you can get to enjoy as well:
- 7 Aug: Wings of Time night show (Free!)
- 8 Aug 10am-8pm: Sentosa Merlion Lookout (Free! – last entry 7:30pm)
- 9 Aug 10am-6pm: Fort Siloso Guided Tour (Free! – last entry 5:30pm)

While in the city center, make sure to be around the Marina Bay area - it’s a great place to visit during the celebrations. You can drop by Gardens by the Bay as well, for the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest are offering 50% discounts for the Singapore residents. Also do not miss one of the biggest and probably most impressive highlights, the Republic's Air Force flyby formation salute.

If shopping is your thing and you want to brighten up your home, IKEA has a huge SG50 sale. Make sure you get some chairs or lamps in the Singaporean red and white colors!

Public transport will also be free on National Day, 9th of August, so go green (on subject green, Lilliputt Indoor Mini Golf has also lowered their prices!) and use public transport. Do remember to put on a smile for your fellow commuters, to make a celebratory day even better.

The Nestia Team wishes everyone a terrific weekend,
Happy jubilee celebrations!
