SINGAPORE, 31 October 2016 – Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) and Realty International Associates (RIA) School of Real Estate recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to raise greater awareness and understanding of real estate matters and ethical industry practices among real estate practitioners.
Under the MOU, CASE and RIA will collaborate and conduct a series of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses set by the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA) for real estate salespersons in the next two years.
CASE will schedule trained speakers for the monthly CPD courses, who will educate participants on dispute resolutions for residential property transactions and implementation of fair trading practices. RIA will support this collaboration by creating publicity to encourage strong participation, as well as to provide appropriate venues and host the courses. To date, CASE and RIA have conducted 16 sessions of "Dispute Resolution for Residential Property Transactions" for 1,026 real estate salespersons.

These CPD courses are integral to ensuring that real estate salespersons continue to improve their knowledge and professional skills beyond the initial basic training. The courses serve to impart essential information to real estate salespersons so that they can practice ethically.
Through attending these courses, real estate salespersons will be equipped with the necessary knowledge and know-how to carry out their work competently and win the trust of their consumers. This will also benefit consumers who can be assured that they are engaging honest salespersons for the purchases or sales of their flats.

RIA School of Real Estate is an Approved Training Organisation for Real Estate Training and an Approved Course Provider for the Real Estate Salesperson (RES) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses.
