I was recommended by my friends before heading off to Changi Airport for welcoming babyhub return to Singapore. Saboten is one of the most successful Japanese Tonkatsu chains with over 500 shops in the globe. Table setting with various condiments and the menu. I ordered the Chicken Katsu Supreme set $22.50+ consisting of Chicken katsu, Pork tenderloin and Ebi fry. All set meals are served with free flow cabbage, steam rice, miso soup, pickle, appetizer and dessert. the chicken katsu as well as the pork katsu were delicious with light and crispy crust and tender juicy meat center. The ebi was fresh and succulent. it is a really delish set meal which lives up to the eatery's reputation. Matcha ice cream, accompanying soup, pickle, appetizer and dessert were all pretty yummy too. The free flow raw cabbage was fresh and crunchy, giving a good balance to the fried items in the meal. The salmon was fresh and cooked just right, meat remains moist and tender though the frying process. also very happy with the creamy croquette and cheesy asparagus roll too. We had an enjoyable dinner at Saboten. Food was great and reasonably priced, and service was prompt and polite. We'll definitely dine here again!!
The chicken pieces are so well-marinated and delicious. Slightly crispy outside and retain the juiciness of the meat inside. For the sauce, I can grind the sesame on my own, and pour the sauce in it, which I could then dip your deep-fried pork loin in it. This place is really great. I strongly recommend it!
It had good portion and the taste to the pork loin with the sauce was fantastic and really yummy! It's crispy outside and juicy inside. I highly recommend this place. All in all, the service is very nice with polite staff.
I ordered the salad and rice. How nice to eat them ! I had lots of the salad which was cruncy and nice. The ambience there is pretty good and relaxing. I strongly recommend this place especially with your friends.
Saboten was thought one of the largest Tonkatsu restaurants in Japan. Saboten was actually meant Cactus, they believe in the spirit to survive even in a worst circumstance. they set highest standard of ingredients and have dedicated chef team, guests were greatly appreciated. I was impressed by the contemporary Japanese settings upon arrival at the restaurant. They serve me with Special Cultery A small bowl of sesame first, then a wooden stick. We had to grind the seeds ourselves, scoop the sauce into the bowl and mix it up. Then it became a perfect dip for our main dish. it was my first time to get in touch with this kind of culture. Very fun. Veggies were free-flow somemore, it came along with the set. Assorted Katsu Fundamentally nice taste with the melted cheese wrapped within crispy Katsu, the mixture was moist while not overly greasy. Crisp fluffy, I can even listen the crunchy voice. Having to say, I was pretty content with the food here and they were reasonably priced. I will return there soon.
