7 Fun things to do by yourself in Singapore

Everyone needs some time to themselves. If you are in desperate need of some “me time”, seek solitude with these activities.

1) Visit a museum and educate yourself about the World around you

Quench your thirst for knowledge by visiting a museum. There are plenty of fascinating museums you can check out. We recommend making a trip down to the lesser known Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall and the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum.

2) Pick up a good book, sip on a cup of coffee and watch the World pass you by

If you are in need of a downtime, there is nothing more therapeutic than reading a book at a quaint little cafe. For you next cafehopping adventure, check out the Open Book Cafe. Open Book Cafe situated in the Bukit Pasoh area is the perfect spot to kick back and relax with a good book.

3) Take a walk on the wild side

Recuperate and recharge with a hike or a leisurely stroll in the park. If you’re scratching your head looking for a good place to hike, head down to The Green Corridor. The Green Corridor is a repurposed railway track that serves as a park connector between several parks like Bukit Timah and Kranji Wetlands. Admire the flora and fauna as you get in tune with your inner self.

4) Learn something

If takings naps is your hobby, it’s probably a good time to pick up a new skill. Get a break from your daily grind and sign up for a class. A cool class to try out is the perfumery workshop. You will be asked to fill up a questionnaire after which you will get to create your very own scent.

If you love a good bargain, snag a good deal at a thrift shop. For those who want to get their shopping fix and at the same time do some good, head on over to the New2U thrift shop which is a treasure trove of snazzy designer goods and stylish pre-loved pieces. On top of that, all proceeds go to the Star Shelter and various Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO) initiatives.

7) Enjoy a tipple in a classy bar

Loosen up with a drink and strike a conversation with that cute bartender while you’re at it. Get a little inebriated at 28 HongKong Street, an intimate bar that serves up interesting cocktails and truffle mac n cheese balls to die for.
